What are the general requirements for CNC machining process division?

2020-07-27

When CNC machining divides the process, it is necessary to grasp the processing according to the structure and manufacturability of the parts, the function of the machine tool of the CNC machining center, the number of parts of the CNC machining, the number of installations and the production organization of the unit. It is recommended to adopt the principle of process concentration or the principle of process dispersion. These need to be determined according to the actual situation, but they must strive to be reasonable. The division of processes can generally be carried out according to the following methods:

   1. Tool centralized sorting method.

Using this method generally divides the process according to the tool used, and uses the same tool to finish all the parts that can be completed on the part. In order to reduce the tool change time, the idle time can generally be compressed to reduce unnecessary positioning errors. The parts can be processed according to the tool concentration process, that is, in one clamping, as much as possible can be processed with one tool Use the part, and then change another knife to process other parts. This reduces the number of tool changes, compresses the lost motion time, and reduces unnecessary positioning errors.

   2. According to the order of processing parts.

The structure of each part is different, and the technical requirements of each surface are also different. Therefore, the positioning method is different during processing, so the process can be divided according to the different positioning methods.

For parts with many CNC machining contents, the machining part can be divided into several parts according to its structural characteristics, such as inner shape, shape, curved surface or plane, etc. Generally, the plane and the positioning surface are processed first, and then the hole is processed; the simple geometry is processed first, and then the complex geometry is processed; the part with lower precision is processed first, and the part with higher precision is processed.

  3. Separate method by roughing and finishing.

Generally, the process can be divided according to factors such as the machining accuracy, stiffness and deformation of the parts. The process can be divided according to the principle of separating rough and finish machining, that is, rough machining can be performed first and then finish machining. Machine tools or different tools are used for processing; for parts that are prone to machining deformation, due to the deformation that may occur after roughing, shape correction is required, so in general, the roughing and finishing operations must be separated.
